May 2015 eBook of the Month.

Feel the fear of the victims and witnesses, hear the thoughts of the cunning and extremely intimidating perpetrator, turn the final page and find yourself wanting to read it all over again… this is an explosive and riveting novel. You don't have to have previously read any other ‘Kathryn Dance’ thrillers, although this will certainly encourage you to. The author is more than capable of running rings around your imagination and thought processes, remember, if you work something out, it’s only because you've been allowed to. There are some wonderfully clever moments where expected action is suspended and anticipated outcomes transformed. Occasionally a chapter will leave you hanging, you want to race ahead, to find out what has just happened, while at the same time consume every word to ensure absolutely nothing is missed. Deaver creates a stimulating and challenging world for Kathryn Dance to manoeuvre through and dares you to keep up in this fabulously intense thriller of a read.~ Liz Robinson

If you like Jeffery Deaver you might also like to read books by Tess Gerritsen, Mark Billingham and Frederick Forsyth.

Synopsis

Solitude Creek by Jeffery Deaver

One mistake is all it takes. Busted back to rookie after losing her gun in an interrogation gone bad, California Bureau of Investigation Agent Kathryn Dance finds herself making routine insurance checks after a roadhouse fire. But Dance is a highly trained expert in body language: her most deadly weapon is her instinct, and they can't take that away from her. And when the evidence at the club points to something more than a tragic accident, she isn't going to let protocol stop her doing everything in her power to take down the perp. Someone out there is using the panic of crowds to kill, and Dance must find out who, before he strikes again ...

Reviews

A masterclass in the art of misdirection * Evening Standard on ROADSIDE CROSSES * Sometimes the purest escapism can only be found in a knuckle-bleaching thriller that messes with your blood pressure. This is a job for Jeffery Deaver, on top form with another case for special agent Kathryn Dance . . . a classically twisty slice of Deaver suspense * Saga on XO * The plotting here is endlessly surprising * Independent on XO * Everything we've come to expect from a man at the top of his game . . . the killings, the suspense, the twisted motives and the way the hunters become the hunted make this a great read. Well done, Jeffery Devious. * Sun on XO * SOLITUDE CREEK displays a key element in Deaver's work: ironclad plotting * Independent * Deaver is a master of manipulation himself; his skillfully constructed plots are devilishly tricky to track and impossible to solve, just the way we like them. * New York Times Book Review *
