Author of The Ivy Chronicles (a Richard and Judy pick) with, in my mind, a much better book.  It has everything to make it a good read, Renata’s diary entries, the infighting at school, a whole set of awkward situations and a delightful heroine trying to do her best.  It is the most enormous fun.

Similar this month: Chris Manby, Catherine Alliott.
Comparison: Carole Matthews, Carmen Reid, Jennifer Weiner.

Wife in the Fast Lane Synopsis

Christy Hayes Drummond, Olympic athlete turned business mogul, has it all -- fame, money, a gorgeous and powerful CEO husband. But when she adopts 11-year-old Renata, her enviable world starts to unravel. Soon she's battling it out with three formidable opponents: a ruthless business partner intent on ousting her from the company she started; a tyrannical stay-at-home mum who'll stop at nothing to maintain her PTA powerbase, and a stunning singleton who's determined to become the third Mrs Michael Drummond. From the Upper East Side of Manhattan to the lush seaside village of St Tropez and the glamorous resort towns of Davos and Aspen, Christy tries valiantly to succeed at the work that feeds her soul and the family that captures her heart. And while Christy is not your average woman, her funny, heartbreaking and absurd journey will strike a chord with any one who has ever dared to dream of having it all.
