The Very Hungover Caterpillar

Humour

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

A pretty piece of nonsense from the creators of We’re Going on a Bar Hunt, again charmingly illustrated this is a parody of The Very Hungry Caterpillar but without the cut out pages. It follows the same structure, i.e. he ate four rashers of bacon, three sausages, two slices of fried bread etc and is eventually able to transform himself. A good joke present for one of those difficult-to-buy-for relatives. It’s only funny if you know the original, otherwise it’s just about how to cure a hangover. Silly fun nicely presented.

Synopsis

The Very Hungover Caterpillar by Emlyn Rees

From the bestselling authors of We're Going on a Bar Hunt, comes another hilarious parody of a much-loved children's book. This time, we follow the quest of one man as he attempts to shake off his hangover, through eating whatever he can get his hands on, and annoying his family in the process. The perfect book for anyone who fondly remembers the original, but has now grown up and knows all too well just how painful hungover days can be ...

Reviews

Praise for We're Going on a Bar Hunt:

'This is the genius work of Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees, a couple who turned their rare date night into such a funny parody of classic kids book, We're Going On A Bear Hunt, it's become a bestseller. Easy to sing, hilarious and slightly naughty - what's wrong with celebrating British pub culture in a cute, innocent way?
