The Untouchable by Gerald Seymour

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

Albert William Packer, known to all who know what’s good for them as Mister is the untouchable. He’s one of London’s drug king-pins and has just evaded imprisonment when a huge investigation falls apart and truly believes he’s untouchable. Seeking to expand his operations he travels to post-civil war Sarajevo to get a directer supply route for his merchandise but is followed by Joey Cann, a junior agent who very much sees himself as Packer’s nemesis and is determined the case against him won’t fail again. But Packer’s up against way more than Cann as he faces off against Serbia’s formidable criminals. Interwoven is the story of one valley and the horrific effect the war had on its inhabitants and as the end draws near it becomes clear why Seymour’s been weaving this in. A rare shift from his usual political thrillers this is much more personal and deeply enjoyable for it.

If you like Gerald Seymour you might also like to read books by Lee Child, John Stock and John le Carre.

But the Customs & Excise unit tasked with taking him down are determined not to give up.
