Summer Lies Bleeding by Nuala Casey

Lovereading view...

Another Soho-based tale from an author who knows the area well. Here the action culminates in the opening of a restaurant, The Rose Garden, where our various characters meet in a highly dramatic climax. We have a young lesbian couple wanting a baby, a husband and wife with small daughter, he’s a recovering alcoholic, she the restaurant owner, a German financial analyst with chronic OCD and Mark, out to avenge his murdered sister. All damaged, flawed people focusing on the negative which adds a depth of depression to this dark, slow moving tale, full of atmosphere.
