Sleep No More by Greg Iles

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

Fans of Greg Iles may be a little surprised by this one. Though it takes Iles’ usual southern setting and is filled with familiar characters there is a chilling supernatural element to this book that will surprise those who thought they had Iles pegged as a straight, great thriller writer. A beautiful stranger at a football game unnerves John Waters and brings back memories he’d rather forget of an old love affair that got a little too passionate and the woman he’d loved but who was horrifically raped and murdered years ago. Now this woman knows things no one alive but John should and he’s inexorably drawn into an affair as he struggles to understand what’s happening. Creepy and compelling, this is Iles at his best, with a twist.

If you like Greg Iles you might also like to read books by Karin Fossum, Brad Thor and David Baldacci.

Synopsis

Sleep No More by Greg Iles

What if someone you loved - who you believed was murdered - came back into your life? This high-octane chiller from the No.1 New York Times bestseller 'gets under your skin, and then burrows deep' (Stephen King). Mallory Gray Chandler was the quintessential Southern Belle who loved John Waters with a seething passion that threatened to destroy them both. He ended the affair. She was later found raped and murdered on a New Orleans pier. A decade later, a single word uttered by the stunning Eve Sumner turns John's world inside out. Exactly who is Eve? And how does she know so much about John's past with Mallory? A mass of secrets, lies and murder is about to explode...
