The Last Banquet by Jonathan Grimwood

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

Set in 18th Century France, this is a wonderful novel and an incredible book for food lovers. Grimwood exquisitely weaves amazing descriptions of mouthwatering meals into his hugely enjoyable story of an ageing French aristocrat (and his always surprising pet tiger!). A real joy to read.

If you like Jonathan Grimwood you might also like to read books by Andrew Miller, Patrick Suskind and Rupert Thomson.
