Sarah Broadhurst's view...

This mixes Robin Hood, the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail together in an epic historical adventure that for all its infeasibility is a cut above the norm. With a terrific pace and all the right buttons pushed; love, war, relationships, honour, betrayal, ambition, despair, hate, forgiveness and generosity, it makes for gripping reading. A lengthy book at 534 pages but I would happily have read another 500-odd. First rate.

If you like Angus Donald you might also like to read books by Robyn Young, Ben Kane and Bernard Cornwell.
