Soldiers' Wives by Fiona Field

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

It is as the title says, a tale of the wives and girlfriends of military personnel today so some of the men, and indeed women, are off to Afghanistan. I believe it is to start a series, I do hope so. This one follows three women with very different attitudes to life. We have Oxford graduate Maddy with a new baby, fun loving Jenna in her desperation to escape her roots marries a soldier and Chrissie running away from her emotions. It’s a lovely read, thought-provoking, informative and very sensitive.
