Books By Norman Taylor, Barry Pope - Author

Norman Taylor has been a climber and fell walker since his teens. Since becoming a father with two children in the 1980s he began to plan walks to suit a young family. This resulted in his first publication, Family Walks in the White Peak. This spawned a nationwide series for Scarthin Books of Cromford, and Norman himself wrote a further five Family Walks guides. Since leaving the teaching profession and becoming manager of Foothills – the Outdoor Specialists in Sheffield – some years ago, he has been leading weekly, guided walks throughout the Peak District. Norman has also written Day Walks in the Peak District – 20 classic circular routes. To help him in the venture, Norman enlisted friend and walking companion Barry Pope. A keen fell walker since his teens, Barry for many years roamed, explored and photographed the landscape of the Peak District National Park.
