Rebecca Seal and Steven Joyce have been travelling to the Greek Islands on holiday for years, drawn back time and again by the glorious weather and delicious cuisine. In The Islands of Greece, Rebecca shares her favourite recipes from their travels, celebrating Greece's regional specialties. Simple yet delicious, she captures the very essence of the islands, using fresh produce and classic Greek flavours in remarkable combinations. Feast on classics like stuffed calamari or chargrilled aubergine salad, or experiment with a more modern pork souvlaki with apples and pancetta. For a sweet treat, Rebecca's polenta cake with figs and pine nuts is impossible to resist. Beautiful photographs complement the recipes and capture the magic and glitz of these stunning islands, from Crete to Mykonos, Santorini to Rhodes.
Full of history, great food and bursting with character, Portugal's capital is a one of Europe's most charming cities. In Lisbon, Rebecca Seal shares her favourite recipes, inspired by her travels. Set on seven hills, Lisbon features world-class beaches, city views and wild forests. And the food is as diverse as the surroundings - from the bars in Bairro Alto to the cafes in Chiado, there's something for everyone. Try the tasty Roasted octopus with smoked paprika, parsley and lemon, tasty Pork with clams, and the classic Chicken piri piri, all washed down with some homemade Sangria. Rebecca's sweets are not to be missed, and include a delicate Almond cake, a summery Coconut Brioche, and a decadent Chocolate cake with doce de leite and sweetened cream. All set to the stunning backdrop of eighteenth century buildings, ornate churches, nostalgic trams and pastel-coloured houses, Lisbon is a major event in cookbook publishing.
Walk the streets of Istanbul and you'll see a city of wonderful contradictions: step out of a stylish modern bar and you're likely to turn a corner and find lamb kebabs roasting over coals on a tiny food cart, in the shadow of towering minarets. This fascinating place, where East meets West and Europe borders Asia, inspired Rebecca Seal and Steven Joyce to create Istanbul, a food tour of the city. From simple meze dishes to fragrant Ottoman-era stews, this book is full of delicious recipes - try roasted aubergines stuffed with spiced lamb, crunchy fennel salad with radishes and sumac, or chicken with almonds and apricots, and be transported to the kitchens of Istanbul. Set against the backdrop of Steven Joyce's stunning food and travel photography, Istanbul is a colourful and exciting gastronomical jaunt around one of the world's most fascinating cities.
