This two volume set reviews the work of the United Nations in the area of humanitarian assistance on the Tenth anniversary of resolution 46/182. The first volume discusses the guiding principles of the resolution, recent changes to the global political and humanitarian agenda, more efficient ways of getting humanitarian assistance work done, and the main challenges, obstacles and opportunities that lie ahead. Volume two is comprised of a series of essays written by experienced humanitarians that address today's major themes in humanitarian assistance.
