After a picnic near an ancient fertility symbol, three very different women find themselves taking home more than they bargained for -- a bun in the oven each! It's the beginning of a journey that will transform their lives, as they begin to realise things have just got a little more difficult and a little more interesting, but that with friendship, love and self-belief, they might just make it through.
For Helen it's a dream come true; a child is something she has wanted for years. Trouble is, her husband 'Slimy Simon' is less impressed -- livid, in fact -- and the pregnancy has only highlighted the cracks that have begun to emerge between them. He dislikes her friends and controls every part of her life -- but Helen might just have found a way to break free of the prison she's found herself in.
Janey, focussed on her career and hell-bent on a promotion to Head of Department, is mortified. She's always been so careful with contraception that even while sitting on an oversized chalk member, she kept her pants on. But it wasn't enough. Now she too is approaching forty with a child on the way and despite her beloved husband George's happiness, Janey just can't believe she's going to give it all up for a baby.
