This book was conceived during pregnancy. Pregnancy after a miscarriage. Considering 10-20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, the author felt this story needed to be told. Her hope is that women who've been through pregnancy will find something they recognise on the pages of this book, that might help them to open up about their own experiences.
I couldn't put it down. It's a read-in-one-sitting spookfest with a good dose of horror alongside a fast, pacy thriller. A compelling read from this adult debut author.

Unusual, unnerving and a thrilling read.
An interesting mix of genres made this an unusual and enjoyable read for me. Part family drama, part supernatural fiction and part psychological thriller, we follow the story of Anna, a successful actress, as she goes through IVF treatment in a last ditch attempt to become pregnant after many years of trying to conceive. Strange things start to happen as Anna attends hospital for her treatment, is she suffering from stress related paranoia or is something more sinister happening? She becomes pregnant at last but things go from bad to worse as she has a miscarriage but strangely still seems to feel a baby moving inside of her. Is she still pregnant? I devoured it. If you’re looking for a creepy supernatural read, then this is a book to pick up!
Delicate Condition follows actress Anna Alcott, who has been trying to get pregnant through IVF with her husband. After several failed attempts, she finally falls pregnant, but the pregnancy doesn’t quite go as smoothly as she was expecting.
The story is slow to develop but is so gripping and creepy that I didn’t mind. There are also plenty of unexpected twists that keep you wanting to know more.

I wanted this baby so badly.
