Inheritance

Inheritance Synopsis

When a headache refuses to lift and his father's hidden past comes to light, a writer in midlife must reckon with the mysteries of illness, ageing and family

Inheritance is the story of midlife. It's about a writer who gets a headache that won't go away. It's about his father's shocking revelation and its devastating consequences. It's the story of the end of one marriage while another family begins. It's about the failures of the body and the struggle with IVF, as well as the joys of parenting a daughter and the bliss of domestic happiness. It's the story of facing up to mortality while also embracing life.

And because this is a book about midlife, it's about all of these things happening at the same time.

Compelling, intimate and moving, Inheritance is a novel about everything we inherit and everything we lose as we live our lives - and how we learn to hold on to all that is precious.
