Borderline

LoveReading Says

A Maxim Jakubowski selected title.

First class pulp from the pen of acclaimed US author Lawrence Block, Borderline was a novel of blood and thunder he had written almost 50 years back and published under a pseudonym and long forgotten. Its revival couldn’t be more timely: it feels like the Tarantino movie bleeding all over the page.

Five desperate people collide on the border between Texas and Mexico: a gambler down on his luck, a wanton divorcee, two sex show performers and a killer on the run. This is brutal crime with its gloves off and a true guilty pleasure to relish beyond the boundaries of political correctness, a modern western with bullets and fifth gear thrills to remind you that some books just want to be fun!
