"More Confessions of a Dog Sitter is such a lovely, funny, warm hearted book that I think will be enjoyed by everyone, but it is an absolute must read for all animal lovers."
SUCH FUN. I loved reading about Chris and Rob, pet sitters who have lots of adventures and many misadventures whilst pet sitting around Europe. Inspired by the author’s own adventures of pet sitting with her husband in their early retirement, the pair have a broad spectrum of pets to look after on their travels and are at times forced to consider what they’ve signed up for. I think that Stark Raving Bonkers: More Confessions of a Dog Sitter is such a lovely, funny, warm hearted book that I think will be enjoyed by everyone, but it is an absolute must read for all animal lovers.
Fancy staying for free in an apartment on the Grand Canal in Venice, or a honeysuckle-clad cottage in the heart of the English countryside? All you need to do is look after the house and the resident animals while the owners go on holiday. Sounds like a doddle doesn’t it?
That’s what Chris and Rob imagine when they take up house-sitting, travelling around Europe and stepping into the lives of a range of doting owners. Little had they anticipated the challenges awaiting them when they volunteered to take care of a vegetarian dog, a Chihuahua with an extensive wardrobe and an unruly Old English sheepdog named Kevin. When they almost ruin a pampered poodle’s chances of winning a Swiss dog-show, are attacked by a crazy parrot in Bath and have to drag a lazy, overweight Labrador around Rome, they begin to wonder why they ever signed up to their new life.
Fans of James Herriot and Gerald Durrell will love the laugh-out-loud accounts of their adventures. A must-read for all animal-lovers.
