Fevers Synopsis

Fever is a centrally regulated thermoregulatory response leading to a rise of body core temperature. This book presents current research in the study of the types, treatment and health risks of fevers. Topics include the African Swine Fever virus pathogenesis and vaccine development; diagnosis of acute or obscure and prolonged febrile illnesses in adult patients; fevers of unknown origin in internal medicine; experimental fever and the role of acting neuropeptide mediators; fevers of intermediate duration; metabolic features of endothelium in hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome; rat bite fever; non-local modelling of insect borne diseases; and treatment and drug resistance in cholera.
