This is an absolute joy to read. Terry and his brother Jack were evacuated during World War Two and sent off to an idyllic spot in Cornwall and taken in by a lovely couple. These are Terry's remembrances of those days. A wonderful reminder of the generosity and kindness of people in a dark and difficult time in our history. Funny, charming and at times heartbreaking this will fill you with a warm glow.
This was originally a radio play that won the Play Of The Year award, declared by BBC Drama Department to be ‘the most popular play for a generation.’ It became a stage musical in Barnstaple. Radio Devon said, ‘The best production I have ever seen at the Queens theatre.’
