Teenage involuntary super hero, Baxter Zevcenko was first introduced in the manic Apocalypse Now Now, which managed to feature high school porn rings, zombies, pan dimensional octopi and transsexual valkyries. The follow up by the South African author proves as crazy and enjoyable, a demented fifth gear ride in which the Harry Potter-inspired sixteen-year old is packed off by an ungrateful world to Hexpoort, a Hogwarts-like school with sex, drugs, a good internet connection and much worse than rock n'roll.
Aided and abetted by an alcoholic supernatural bounty hunter, Baxter has once again to confront the apocalypse, even though his powers of magic are painfully inadequate and his tendency to dreamwalk is something of a problem. A zany drop down the rabbit hole with laughs and spills to spare.

This is the brilliant follow-up to the critically acclaimed Apocalypse Now Now. And the thought the hard part was over...The world has been massively unappreciative of sixteen-year-old Baxter Zevcenko. His bloodline may be a combination of ancient Boer mystic and giant shape-shifting crow, and he may have won an inter-dimensional battle and saved the world, but does anyone care?
