New readers to this author should not be put off by this being the latest in a series featuring Carson Ryder as there is sufficient back story where needed which will probably make you want to read all the others! However we are off to a new location for previously Carson has been in Alabama. Now he is in Florida, not yet officially on the books of the Law Enforcement Centre but nevertheless called in by his new boss, Roy McDermott, to attend a crime scene. Carson specialises in psychopaths, and here in Florida he deals with people trafficking and the sex slave trade too, something he had not had occasion to come across in his usual stamping ground. Smoothly written, suspenseful, with touches of humour, this is a lovely series.
