Wish Upon a Star by Trisha Ashley

Wish Upon a Star

Lovereading view...

A novel of family love, re-cementing bonds and the force of young motherhood to overcome adversity. Stella’s baby has a heart defect which her partner cannot cope with so she returns to her family home and a mother she had had little contact with for years. So this is a story of mothers and daughters, sensitive and heart-warming, especially as the local community rallies round raising money to send Stella and her baby to America for surgery. It’s predictable and it’s lovely.

If you like Trisha Ashley you might also like to read books by Katie Fforde, Kate Long and Isla Dewar.

Wish Upon a Star by Trisha Ashley

A wonderful warm festive treat from Sunday Times bestseller Trisha Ashley. Single mum Cally's life is all about her little girl Stella. She's resigned to the fact that the only romance she's going to get is from the rom-coms she watches and with her busy job and her daughter; she doesn't have time to even think about love. But when Stella gets sick, and Cally is forced to move in with her mother in the remote village of Sticklepond, to save money for Stella's operation, Cally realizes how tough it can be to go it alone. Still, the last thing Cally wants to do is fall in love. All she wants is a Christmas miracle to save Stella. Can laid-back, charming Jago unlock Cally's frozen heart and show her that the best gifts aren't always found under the tree? A gorgeous festive treat, perfect for fans of Katie Fforde and Jill Mansell

About the Author

Trisha Ashley

Trisha Ashley gave up her fascinating but time-consuming hobbies of house-moving and divorce a few years ago in order to settle in North Wales, though her only claim to the area is a Welsh grandmother. After many years puzzling over which quarter of her is Welsh, she's decided it's probably her writing arm. She has had many part-time jobs over the years, but her current one as a seasonal worker for the National Trust neatly combines three of her greatest interests: historic houses, gardens and meeting people.
