Written in the first person, it follows his development as he slowly becomes aware of his powers, questions, learns, dreams and ponders, eventually discovering the magic of his birth and his role in life. But really it’s the author attempting to understand Jesus himself and how Christianity emerged. It’s also a great historical novel, thoroughly researched and startling in many way.
