"A beautifully warm and inviting memoir that tells of a fascinating life with history, nature, friends and family at its welcoming heart. "
This memoir is just as welcoming, friendly, and inclusive as you would imagine yet it’s also surprising and absolutely fascinating; I loved it. Jules Hudson is a well known face from TV, he comes across as kind and empathetic and so I looked forward to learning more about him. He writes with a genuine thoughtful simplicity, sharing the stage with other people in his life.
As well as his love for nature and history, you can see a thirst for knowledge which has served him well. I really enjoyed reading about his early years, the layers that shaped his work and home life, the friends and family that that have had a lasting impact. He has stepped out of what would be most people’s comfort zones, exploring our world and history on his own terms.
The countryside and nature feature throughout, he appears to feel most at home in rural places and clearly loves his animals. His sense of humour, honesty, and compassion warm the pages, ensuring this is a truly enjoyable read. A fascinating and inspiring memoir, Wild at Heart invites you into a life lived with enthusiasm and an enquiring mind, and its highly recommended by the LoveReading team.

As seen on BBC’s hit shows, Escape to the Country and Countryfile, this is Jules Hudson’s first memoir.
