LoveReading Says
Book-lovers looking to escape to tropical territory this summer need look no further than Georgie Tilney’s Beach Rivals. With its Bali bookshop setting and enemies-to-lovers narrative, it delivers literary loveliness and life-changing romance in a style that slips down as easy as a coconut cocktail.
Derailed by her dad’s death, Clare dropped out of uni at the age of 21. After two years backpacking followed by a few jobs that went nowhere, she’s still drifting, which is why she applies for “The Ultimate Dream Job: Reading on the Beach” and lands a three-month contract to work in a Bali bookshop.
On arrival, things don’t go entirely to plan. After initially being overwhelmed by “simmering excitement”, Clare discovers she has to share her job, and a tiny flat, with Jack, an American business graduate. Ostensibly chalk and cheese, they rub each other up the wrong way, until Clare’s passion for books and talent for organising events impress her rival, while Clare starts to wonder whether she was wrong to judge Jack by his (handsome) cover.
With lots of thrilling will-they-won’t-they-pull-it-off tension around a big bookshop event and Clare and Jack’s burgeoning bond, Beach Rivals is a feast of feel-good summer fun for romantics.

Beach Rivals Synopsis
One bookshop in paradise. Two bitter rivals. A whole summer to get through...
Clare thought that by now she would have her life figured out. Instead, she's living with her parents, working a job she hates and has absolutely no idea what she wants to do with the rest of her life.
When she sees a viral job advert for a three-month bookseller position on a Bali beach, she jumps at the chance. But it's not until she arrives in Bali that Clare realises she won't be working in the bookshop alone.
Instead she's sharing the bookshop - and a flat - with a handsome but infuriating American man. Jack is Clare's opposite in almost every way, and it's not long before they're driving each other crazy. But fighting with Jack is also the most fun Clare's had in years, and it's only a matter of time before their relationship turns less than professional...
Beach Rivals is an escapist, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers rom com - the ideal summer read!

Georgie Tilney Press Reviews
Complete sunshine in book form... Fun and swoonworthy, a delicious slow burn love story as well as a love letter to books, Beach Rivals is as bright and engaging as its glorious cover' - Cressida McLaughlin, author of The Staycation
Beach Rivals is the perfect slice of summer escapism! Sizzling chemistry paired with swoony romance, and two characters I completely fell in love with. I read it in one sitting! - Catherine Walsh, author of Holiday Romance
A delight. Ideally would have read it on a beach; still bloody good served on the sofa - Lauren Bravo, author of Preloved
Georgie Tilney's Beach Rivals is such a love letter to bookshops and beach reads. I adored the forced proximity roommate set-up, and was rooting for Jack and Clare to realize the other wasn't nearly as defined by their seeming grump/sunshine roles as they might first appear. The side characters were so lovable and fun, and my kingdom for Simone Adair books to be real. As warm as white sand beneath your toes, as refreshing as a cool breeze - this book utterly transported me! - Alicia Thompson, author of Love in the Time of Serial Killers
'Deliciously funny, wonderfully hopeful, swoony-as-heck and perfect summery escapism. I loved it! For fans of You've Got Mail, for those who've always dreamed of taking the island job, for anyone who has swooned at a handsome man's forearms! I devoured it!' - Lizzie Huxley-Jones, author of Make You Mine This Christmas
