"With Ukrainian folk-lore interwoven throughout the story this is a real Magical Mystery Tour, with beautiful descriptive writing that makes you feel you are travelling through these wonderful countries too."
The Baba Yaga Mask is just like a Matryoshka Doll with its multi-layers, and stories within stories. Sisters Larissa and Ira are worried when their Ukrainian Grandmother - Baba Vira flies to Warsaw but never arrives at her destination. They leave their families and go to try and find her. Travelling through Eastern Europe, following the trail of her life during the conflict and war she witnessed as a young woman.
The dual time-line tells of the horrors and struggles that faced their beloved Grandmother in her youth and the sisters adventures in their quest to find her. With Ukrainian folk-lore interwoven throughout the story this is a real Magical Mystery Tour, with beautiful descriptive writing that makes you feel you are travelling through these wonderful countries too.
