"Sharp, flirty, and outrageously fun, this glittering rom-com is worth stealing *"
*Only joking, obviously buy it from your favourite bookshop!
‘There is no feeling in the world quite like breaking the rules, of doing the exact opposite of what a grown woman is supposed to do… And getting away with it.’
I bloody loved this book! Welcome to the equally high stakes worlds of pickpocketing, and being a bridesmaid at your rich frenemy’s wedding.
You love Cat immediately – a down-on-her-luck cynic with a heart of gold (but you can’t pay the bills with that), she discovers a penchant for pickpocketing. But like a modern Robin Hood, she only steals from the fancy suit jackets of chauvinist city boys. Until she gets a bigger pay-off in her sights: the whopper of a diamond in her friend's wedding ring.
I wish I could go down to the Oceana hotel to drink stolen champagne with her and gorgeous bartender-cum-con artist Jake (who also has a knack for understanding a persona by their cocktail choice). Their fake dating flirtation is one of the great pleasures of the book, and (no spoilers) Ellis keeps you guessing about whose feelings are real. I hope that the tease of a sequel in the ending comes true!
Combining high-stakes glamour with relatable sarcasm, this rom-com is as sparkly and cutting as a stolen diamond. (And has better metaphors than that one.)

There's no thrill like breaking the rules...
Cat has a dangerously dwindling bank balance. She also has:
· a month before her landlord kicks her out
· a surprise wedding invitation from rich mean girl, Louisa
· a secret talent for con artistry
A priceless jewel the size of a cocktail olive is glinting on Louisa’s finger.
And when Cat meets her ideal plus one, Jake – who’s gifted at hustling and posing as the perfect boyfriend – this wedding becomes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After all,
How hard can a diamond heist be?
