A title that doesn’t lie, these are really good dog photos. Containing the work of some of the best animal photographers there are naturally many different approaches to photographing dogs, many of the pictures have the “aaah” factor, many show the beauty, the fun, the work of dogs and there are some here to tug the heart-strings – particularly the portraits of dogs marooned in rescue centres. An excellent introduction to the subject featuring photographers such as Elliott Erwitt and William Wegman. ~ Sue Baker

Synopsis

Really Good Dog Photography by Hoxton Mini Press

Dogs and photography have gone hand in paw almost since the medium was invented and our passion remains undiminished, with pictures of adorable, bright-eyed dogs all over the internet. The photographs in this book offer an alternative to all the fluff. They approach the dog as a dignified, intelligent and noble being, and they consider our relationship with man's best friend for the extraordinary thing it really is.

Reviews

This is a delightful book, with photos of dogs by 29 world-famous dog photographers. There are beautiful dogs, clever dogs, noble dogs, savage dogs. And on every page, more dogs. Cat lovers will look askance and wonder whether or not the world has gone mad. Which of course it has, but this book will keep a few people sane for that tiny bit longer.
