December 2015 Book of the Month.
Oh my word! This is a wonderfully bone chilling and mind biting book, it’s quite simply a stunner. ‘Killing Ways’ is Alex Barclay’s seventh novel and fifth FBI Special Agent Ren Bryce novel. If you've read the author's previous titles, I have no doubt you will find yourself on a different, possibly even more intense path than the first timer. This was my first foray into the world of Ren and at the start I wasn't sure if I was going to like her, but I quickly found myself completely consumed by the storyline and her character. The brutal serial killer is stomach churningly repellent whilst Ren is on the edge of stability and feels invincible. This is dynamic, snappy writing, at times it’s so fast paced my mind had a thrilling and serious workout to keep up. With harsh shocks, sickening murders and a team of detectives with issues and problems of their own, this is a powerfully penetrating, absolute firecracker of a read. ~ Liz Robinson
