Mia Thermopolis is one of the most delightful fictional creations ever. Transformed in an instant from ordinary New York teen to princess, her adventures, recounted in Meg Cabot’s bestselling Princess Diaries series, charmed readers with their warmth and humour. Now Cabot has written a new story for grown-up readers. Mia is twenty-six and engaged to her long-time boyfriend the lovely Michael. She’s still grappling with the pressures of being a royal and the Genovian side of her family continue to cause problems. Indeed, a shock revelation about her father’s past looks like putting her wedding plays in jeopardy. Run-ins with the paparazzi, political intrigue and a surprise addition to the family plus Mia’s romantic life are all candidly described in Mia’s journals and through wonderful text conversations with her friends! As charming and funny as she ever was, it’s lovely to have Mia back! ~ Andrea Reece

Synopsis

Royal Wedding The Princess Diaries 11 by Meg Cabot

From Meg Cabot, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Princess Diaries series, comes the very first new adult instalment, featuring the now grown-up Princess Mia!

Royal Wedding follows Princess Mia and her Prince Charming as they plan their fairy tale wedding - but a few poisoned apples could turn this happily-ever-after into a royal nightmare. For Princess Mia, the past five years since college graduation have been a whirlwind of activity, what with living in New York City, running her new teen community centre, being madly in love, and attending royal engagements. And speaking of engagements, Mia's gorgeous longtime boyfriend Michael managed to clear both their schedules just long enough for an exotic (and very private) Caribbean island interlude where he popped the question! Of course Mia didn't need to consult her diary to know that her answer was a royal oui. But now Mia has a scandal of majestic proportions to contend with: Her grandmother's leaked fake wedding plans to the press that could cause even normally calm Michael to become a runaway groom. Worse, a scheming politico is trying to force Mia's father from the throne, all because of a royal secret that could leave Genovia without a monarch. Can Mia prove to everyone - especially herself - that she's not only ready to wed, but ready to rule as well?

Reviews

'ZOMG! This is SO exciting! We're all returning to Genovia!!' Perez Hilton

'Cabot has a knack for hilarious dialogue and zany characters, but she also creates a story that's full of heart. Fans who grew up with Mia will relish this opportunity to spend more time in her world. This funny, heartwarming story is royally perfect from start to finish.' Kirkus

'Cabot charms in the latest installation of her Princess Diaries series, the 11th book and the first geared to adults. Lovably neurotic Princess Mia Thermopolis of Genovia has plenty on her plate-dodging the paparazzi and online stalkers, dealing with insulting bloggers, and, of course, attending to her royal duties-when her life turns to absolute chaos. After Mia's longtime love, Michael Moscovitz, pops the question on a romantic beach getaway, Mia thinks a happy ending is all but assured. She doesn't count on her quirky father's antics, meeting a close relative for the first time, and a shocking surprise in the family department, one that is destined to change the course of Mia's life. Readers who first discovered Cabot's Princess books as teens will enjoy seeing Mia and Michael all grown up, and new readers will enjoy this sweet contemporary tale. Since this is being billed as the final book in the series, one hopes that Cabot will reconsider and write more of Mia and Michael's story, especially given the developments near the book's end. Pure fun.' Publisher's Weekly

About the Author

Meg Cabot

Meg Cabot is the author of The Princess Diaries series as well as several other novels for teenagers. Her books have sold millions of copies round the world - and two million in the UK alone.

Cabot was born in Bloomington, Indiana, to college professor C. Victor and Barbara Cabot. In 1991, Cabot received a B.A. from Indiana University.

Meg Cabot married financial writer and poet Benjamin D. Egnatz on April 1, 1993. Their wedding date (April Fool’s Day) was a deliberate play on her husband's belief that only fools get married in the first place. The wedding was actually an elopement in Italy. Her novel Every Boy's Got One is loosely based on her own elopement.

Before she published her first book, Meg worked as an assistant dorm manager at New York University. After living in Indiana, California, New York, and France, she now currently resides in Key West, Florida. She splits her time between an apartment in New York, New York, and a barn in Bloomington, Indiana.

In May 2006, the Harvard Crimson released reports that 19-year-old author Kaavya Viswanathan borrowed passages from Cabot's Princess Diaries series, and other books, to place in her novel How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life. Viswanathan's novels were subsequently pulled from the shelves.

Cabot has also written many books for teens, including The Princess Diaries series, which has won many awards, and her recently completed series, The Mediator.

She has lived in various parts of the US and France, but now lives in Key West, Florida, with her husband and one-eyed cat, Henrietta.
