Sarah Broadhurst's view...

Fluctuating between 2010 and 1999 this is the tale of missing teenager Emma who may or may not be dead, of Lucas an evil, manipulative psycho, Ben a young adult working in a hostel and Jenny who takes too many drugs. That was back in 1999. Now, in 2010, a body is found in some woods. This opens up the old case, brings back the original detective, DC Gardner, to work with the new investigator, DS Nicola Freeman, and sets folk attempting to find the original teenagers, minus one … but which and why … that is at the centre of this tense tale.

If you like Rebecca Muddiman you might also like to read books by Suzanne Bugler, Emma Kavanagh and Samantha Hayes.

Eleven years ago, troubled teenager Emma Thorley went missing. The police assumed she was a runaway. But now a body has been found in woods near Blyth. DI Michael Gardner knows he didn't take Emma's disappearance seriously enough back then, and is determined to make up for it now. But when he and DS Nicola Freeman start to reinvestigate, they discover that nothing is as simple as it seems. As news of the discovery travels, the past will come back to haunt all those involved. Because there are consequences when good people do bad things, and some secrets cannot stay buried for ever...
