Plumdog by Emma Chichester Clark

Sue Baker's view...

If you haven’t read Emma Chichester Clark’s blog then I urge you to have a peek, Plumdog “writes” the posts and Emma illustrates them. As well as urging you to check out the website, I warn you now you will be overcome in adoration and perhaps a little envy that you don’t have a little Plumdog yourself. A dog of mixed ancestry (Jack Russell, Whippet and Poodle), Emma Chichester Clark has captured Plumdog’s spirit and joyful approach to life, the book records a year in Plumdog’s life, wonderful illustrations, great good humour and a lovely tribute to a woman’s best friend.

Who is Sue Baker

The Good Book Guide logo The Good Book Guide Review. In the Good Book Guide editorial offices, we are in love with Plum, the spirited black ‘whoosell’ – whippet, Jack Russell and poodle – who is the star of the Plumdog blog. In pictures by talented children’s illustrator, Emma Chichester Clark, Plum’s blog tells of her daily antics – of long walks in the park with her numerous other doggy friends, catching balls and finding sticks, and best of all, swimming, wherever and whenever and for as long as possible. She goes on holiday (a lot), occasionally going to stay with her sister Liffey when they go off without her; she enjoys relaxing on a sofa, and absolutely loves publishing parties and visiting schools and bookshops – which she has been doing a lot more of since she became a published author! This winning volume collects the best of Plum’s blogging and is the perfect stocking filler for any dog-lovers, who will recognise his or her own dog somewhere in these hilarious entries.

Plumdog by Emma Chichester Clark

Hello. My name is Plum and I'm a whoosell - that's whippet mixed with Jack Russell and poodle. I especially like swimming, leaping, catching, and croissants, and my favourite fragrance is fox poo. I live with Emma, an illustrator, and Rupert. My sister, Liffey, lives nearby. Over the last year I've been keeping a diary. Emma has helped with the pictures, but the words are all mine. Since 2012 Emma Chichester Clark has been delighting thousands of followers with her blog Plumdog, which records the day to day life of Plum, her dog, in Plum's own words and Emma's irresistible illustrations. This book collects Plum's best pages in book form. It will bring cries of delighted recognition from anyone who has ever owned a dog and, dare one say it, charm the pants off even those who strongly prefer cats.
