Fools and Mortals by Bernard Cornwell Read the opening extract of the brand new Bernard Cornwell book before its publication on 19/10/2017

Invisible by James Patterson

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

A female FBI analyst uses all her powers of persuasion to track a killer she believes murdered her sister and others in what the force is putting down to accidental fires. Interspersed between the investigation chapters are entries from the killer explaining why and how the deaths occurred so we know they are no accident. In true Patterson style the tension is ratcheted up towards the end and a lovely twist produced. What is not so typical for Patterson is the amount of female emotion and soul searching that winds through the complex take. It is very good.

If you like James Patterson you might also like to read books by Jeffery Deaver, Andrew Gross and Michael Connelly.

Synopsis

Invisible by James Patterson

Everyone thinks Emma Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emma has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her nightly recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire. Not even Emma's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison 'Books' Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected. That is, until Emma finds a piece of evidence he can't afford to ignore. More murders are reported by the day - and they're all inexplicable. No motives, no murder weapons, no suspects. Could one person really be responsible for these unthinkable crimes?
