As Serious As Death by Quintin Jardine

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

After nine books featuring Oz Blackstone, Jardine had clearly had enough of his movie star come detective and engineered his end. Enter ex-wife Primavera Blackstone, practically a villain when we originally met her she is now very much a heroine, trying to live a quiet life and raise her son in Spain but finding crime very much manages to get in the way. This time a blast from the past shows up and she joins him in an investigation into airline vandalism that very soon has them in much deeper trouble than they expected. This is book 4 of the series and those who haven’t already read them may enjoy starting at the beginning with Inhuman Remains.

If you like Quintin Jardine you might also like to read books by Bill Knox, Tony Black and Will Davenport.

Synopsis

As Serious As Death by Quintin Jardine

Primavera Blackstone has finally found contentment by the Spanish sea. A fiercely protective single mother, she doesn't appreciate an offer of marriage. Nor does she welcome a blast from her murky Scottish past, retired cop Ricky Ross. Ricky now works for millionaire airline owner Jack Weighley - a powerful man to whom you don't say 'no'. Together Primavera and Ricky must investigate a series of assaults on Jack's aircraft. Are they acts of vandalism, or the sinister work of Catalan extremists? As Primavera and Ricky are drawn into events, and the body count rises, Primavera begins to understand the true meaning of 'till death us do part'...

Reviews

Very engaging as well as ingenious, and the unravelling of the mystery is excellently done -- Allan Massie Scotsman Well constructed, fast-paced, Jardine's narrative has many an ingenious twist and turn - Observer

Remarkably assured...a tour de force - New York Times

About the Author

Twenty years ago Quintin Jardine abandoned the life of a media relations consultant for the more morally acceptable world of murder and mayhem. Over thirty published novels later, it's a decision that he has never regretted. Happily married, he splits his time between Scotland and Spain.
