And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

Lovereading view...

An involved tale of an Afghan village family split apart by poverty and desperation. It does not have the same powerful shock element of his The Kite Runner or A Thousand Splendid Suns but it is nonetheless an important portrait of a country and a time. At its heart it is a family saga travelling from Paris to Greece and back to Afghanistan again in an epic tale of great sadness portraying the turmoil that has been Afghanistan for so many years. A wonderful book.

If you like Khaled Hosseini you might also like to read books by Daniel Mason, Yasmina Khadra and Asne Seierstad.
