Lovereading view...

Josie, in her mid-forties, is diagnosed with breast cancer. Married to Jeff for twenty-two years she still loves him desperately despite a slight hiccup in their relationship some five years ago. In the course of her treatment she strikes up an unlikely friendship with a volunteer from a middle-class family. Josie is very working class from a sink housing estate near Bristol. Sadly Josie’s treatment is not successful and it is obvious the inevitable will occur. How she lives her last few months and manages her family and life is wonderfully handled. This really is an excellent book covering the horrors, emotions and the hospital treatment in a sensitive read. Moving and heart-warming, it treats the utterly sad situation beautifully. One of Susan Lewis’ best.

If you like Susan Lewis you might also like to read books by Santa Montefiore, Sandra Brown and Sidney Sheldon.
