Manuel Vázquez, Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid, Spain Manuel Vazquez has been responsible of many scientific and technological projects on the magnetism of nano and microwires. He is co-author of over 600 publications and 22 patents. He was Head of Laboratory at the Institute of Applied Magnetism, IMA (1992-2000), and set up the Group of Nanomagnetism and Magnetization Processes at the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid, ICMM/CSIC (from 2001). Prof. Vazquez was the Manager of the National Spanish Strategic Action on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (2004-9). He has actively volunteered to international actions particularly in the IEEE Magnetics Society (Chair Intermag2008, founder of Spain Chapter), and IUPAP (Secretary Commission on Magnetism; Program Chair ICM2015). He is the recipient of the Salvador Velayos Magnetism Award 2016, and currently the President of the IEEE Magnetics Society (2017-8).
