Emin Poljarevic is an Associate Professor in Islamic Theology and Philosophy, and a Sociologist of Religion at Uppsala University. He brings an Interdisciplinary approach that pairs normative theological analysis with empirical research on social movements. He is co-author of Social Movements and Civil War: When Protests for Democratization Fail and has published widely on Islamophobia, citizenship, and political theology. His work foregrounds Muslim civil rights activism, especially Malcolm X, and contemporary Muslim liberation theology.
Ivan Ejub Kostic is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at the University of Belgrade. He has authored and edited several books on contemporary Islamic thought and Islamic movements, and has conducted extensive field research on Muslim communities across Europe. His research focuses on the position and presence of Muslims in Europe and the Balkans, engages decolonial and liberationist strands of Islamic and critical thought, and explores the affirmation of Muslim political subjectivity.
