His most notable books include Workers (1993), Migrations (2000), and Genesis (2013). Salgado passed away in May 2025. 

LE´LIA WANICK SALGADO is a Brazilian author, film producer, and environmentalist. She was married to Sebastia~o Salgado.

ELISA PALAZZI teaches Climate Physics at the University of Turin. She specializes in the study of climate and its effect on mountain regions, at the frontlines of climate change.
