Books By Cynthia Furse - Author
Dr. Cynthia Furse is the Associate Vice President for Research at the University of Utah and Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Dr. Furse's research focuses on imbedded antennas and sensors in complex environments, such as telemetry systems in the human body, and sensors for location of faults on aging aircraft wiring. She is recognized internationally for development of a system for on-board intermittent electrical fault location for aging aircraft wiring during flight to prevent in-flight fires and loss of signal. This research has been commercialized through LiveWire Test Labs, a spin off company from the University of Utah, for which Dr. Furse is a founder and Chief Scientist. Dr. Furse teaches electromagnetics, wireless communication, computational electromagnetics, microwave engineering, and antenna design. She has received numerous research and teaching awards including the Governor's Medal for Science and Technology and the Harriett B. Rigas award, which is a prestigious IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) medal for excellence in teaching. She is a Fellow of the IEEE and the National Academy of Inventors.
