Prior to this, he was an assistant professor of mathematics at Manhattan College in the Bronx, NY, and a visiting assistant professor of mathematics at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. He earned his PhD in mathematics from Wesleyan University, where his research focused on homogeneous dynamics and metric number theory.
