Lynne Barrett-Lee was born in London in 1959 and is married with three children. She has always written in her spare time, and her short stories and articles have been published in women’s magazines for several years. Her novels are the acclaimed JULIA GETS A LIFE, VIRTUAL STRANGERS, ONE DAY, SOMEDAY and STRAIGHT ON TILL MORNING and she writes full-time. In 1994 she and her family moved to Cardiff, where the singing never stops, the sun always shines, and the Welsh rugby team always wins.
A warm and funny read that keeps you turning pages to see which dysfunctional relationship will be in the spotlight next. Although things may not seem to be going too right for many of the characters as the story unfolds this is an optimistic tale about love and relationships. Good fun.
A charming scenario where a Radio Wales DJ, Jack, finds a trainer on a station and appeals, on air, for its owner to come forward. Enter Hope, both in name and emotion. This is an enjoyable, light, modern Cinderella story with a shrewd look at divorced life for both Hope and Jack are in that predicament.Similar this month: None but try Nisha Minhas.Comparison: Jenny Colgan, Chris Manby, Carole Matthews.
Lynne is great at getting you under the skin of her characters so you really know them or think you do. Very satisfying read but also thought-provoking.
