May 2016 eBook of the Month. This is the first in a new series, and introduces DS Gillian Marsh as she focusses on a missing person enquiry. The novel begins with 40 year old Nicola jet-setting off to the Maldives, clever, shy and retiring, she finds herself out of her depth, until she meets the man of her dreams. A feeling of menace pervades this idyllic spot with the writing highlighting a sense of forboding. Back in the UK, Nicola is reported missing by her neighbours when she fails to return from her holiday. Enter DS Gillian Marsh, a no nonsense detective with attitude, she takes the report by the scruff of its neck and flies out to the Maldives to make enquiries. I suggest any disbelief at this point is suspended, just enjoy the trip as DS Marsh bulldozes her way through the investigation. ‘Swimming With Sharks’ is an easy to read, globetrotting crime drama.
A totally gripping Wiltshire mystery: the fifth book in the unputdownable DI Gillian Marsh series. Perfect for fans of Lisa Regan and J.R. Ellis. When a body is found in the grounds of a prestigious Wiltshire private school, DI Gillian Marsh takes on the case. The young groundsman, Bradley Watson, has been shot dead, pierced through the heart with an arrow. As the investigation gathers pace, DI Marsh is frustrated to find the Whalehurst staff and students united in silence. This scandal must not taint their reputation. But when Gillian discovers pictures of missing Whalehurst pupil, fifteen-year-old Rachel Snyder, on Bradley's dead body - photos taken on the night she disappeared, and he was murdered - the link between the two is undeniable. But what is Whalehurst refusing to reveal? And does Gillian have what it takes to bring about justice? What readers are saying about Anna Legat: 'Brilliant. I didn't want to put it down!' 'It's a rare author who can keep me guessing until the end - and the ending was a shocker' 'Plenty of twists and turns' 'A brilliantly complex spaghetti of unrelated sub-plots to challenge any armchair sleuth' 'I thoroughly enjoyed this book, reading it cover to cover in a weekend' 'I shall look out for more from Ms Legat'

A darkly and brilliantly funny look at what being a fly on the wall is really like, Life Without Me is Anna Legat's debut novel. Georgie Ibsen is a successful, cynical, fortysomething hotshot lawyer. She runs her life, professional and personal, with precision and clear purpose. She's just made a breakthrough in a crucial case, her family is growing more independent ... things couldn't be better. Until it all comes to a screeching halt when she's involved in a hit-and-run and ends up in a coma. Somehow, in her comatose state, Georgie is given unique glimpses into the lives of her nearest and dearest, their most intimate secrets: her boring husband's intense involvement with a colleague; her son's lovelorn yearning for his mother's nurse; her fifteen-year-old daughter's bad boy boyfriend, who just might be linked to the criminal mastermind involved in her last big case... Throw in a neurotic actress sister, a senile mother with a traumatic past, and a smug subordinate barrister who's out to ruin her case in her absence...oh, and a sex-god lawyer extraordinaire who's a deeply troubled soul with a penchant for some unsavoury practices...although Georgie is out of action, life certainly isn't boring without her!
