About Martin Campbell
Dr Martin Campbell is the author of four novels, including the award-winning Sailor’s Heart, published by Mighty Pens: a Second World War novel that combines storytelling with historical research into a little-known experimental psychiatric facility set up to recycle Royal Navy sailors back into battle.
Born in Greenock, Scotland, and now living in St Andrews, Martin spent 30 years working in clinical psychology, splitting his time between clinical health services and university teaching. His areas of specialism are mental illness and forensic services.
He writes compelling, character-driven stories, praised in national reviews for the way they blend real historical events with fiction and make lesser-known periods of history accessible to a wide readership.
As well as writing, he enjoys playing Texas Hold’Em poker and sea fishing, neither with much success.
What LoveReading says
