Hon var känd för poesi präglad av symbolism och dekadens. Som dotter till konstnären August Malmström utforskade hon teman som kärlek och det övernaturliga. Löwenhjelm växte upp i Helsingborg, bodde senare i Örebro och Stockholm och var även översättare. Efter att ha drabbats av lungsjukdom 1914 tillbringade hon mycket tid på sanatorier och avled 1918."
