Die Geschichte von Peter Pan - ursprünglich in einem Roman für Erwachsene beschrieben - gehört heute weltweit zu den Kinderbuch-Klassikern.
Als Theaterstück wurde es bereits 1904 in London uraufgeführt und zählt in England und Amerika vor allem zur Weihnachtszeit zu den am meisten gespielten Schauspielen für Kinder.
Leander Haußmann präsentierte dieses Stück im Juni 2000 als Abschlußregie seiner 5-jährigen Intendantenzeit am Bochumer Schauspielhaus.
Die Berliner Kultband ELEMENT OF CRIME konnte er für den Soundtrack verpflichten.
Für die Hörbuchproduktion wurden zwei Songs sowie zahlreiche Sounds von ELEMENT OF CRIME aus der Schauspielproduktion übernommen.
Die Parts von Peter Pan und Wendy werden von Annika Kuhl und Steffi Kühnert gesprochen, die auch in der Bochumer Inszenierung diese Rollen spielten.
Vorlage der Hörbuchproduktion ist das bei ARENA erschienene Kinderbuch.
