Alchemised has incredibly raw characters. Who we get to connect with very deeply throughout the book, therefore we as readers are able to be consumed furthermore by the story, and the rights and wrongs of war. We get to experience the gains and the losses both sides of the war experience, which makes the book stand out even more. It is a tragically dark atmospheric book that makes you question every singular aspect that’s said. It covers so many dark topics that happen during war, and the results of them. It is a very beautifully written book that brought tears to my eyes, made my heart ache, as well as brought me cheer. Helena and Kaine are indeed very complex and raw characters that we get to connect with during our read, their tragic love story is so entirely captivating making you question every impulse and every decision they make.
