Dead Letters

It was a really enjoyable mystery and very well written with some interesting and intriguing characters along the way.

The author Richard Debden mysteriously disappears, presumed dead. On the anniversary of his disappearance, his ex-girlfriend receives a manuscript in the post, supposedly from Richard. She shares the manuscript with Richard's best friend Chris after the memorial service on the anniversary of his disappearance. The manuscript is a novel that seems to hint at the whereabouts of Richard. Amy and Chris set about unravelling the clues and the mystery within the manuscript of 'Dead Letters'. This is a very clever premise for a novel. It was a really enjoyable mystery and very well written with some interesting and intriguing characters along the way. I wasn't totally hooked by the story within the story at first, but I got into it more as the book went along. An intelligent, thoughtful and engaging mystery.
