Karma Wears Versace

This was a somewhat unexpected crime novel.

A fiction novel written in third person, set in current times and in America. This was a somewhat unexpected crime novel. At first I wasn’t sure if I liked the book but was soon proved wrong and actually really enjoyed it. I came to quite like Chosen (the main character) despite her wrong doings as I think in a way you began to justify what she was doing or rather like everyone else pehaps just fell for her charm! I was also surprised with the ending as I felt we were left with a bit of a cliffhanger, although I am not detailing this in my review so that I do not give the game away! The story centres around two confident and feisty women, one a detective. The other a murder suspect. Both are very intelligent women and good at what they do. The storyline follows themes of betryal, regret, revenge and trust. The book was written by Rod Palmer, an author I had not previously heard of and therefore have not read any other books by this author. I am unable to compare this book to previous works but enjoyed the pace and way in which the story unfolded. Overall the book was a pleasant read.

It is a very interesting book. The ending leaves you wanting to find out more.

Strange deaths are occurring and Aisha Sawyer has to solve them with her partner, Travis. There is no explanation to some of the deaths. Aisha has special qualities, especially when pregnant. She sees visions of things that are about to happen. Finally, Aisha interviews a suspect and immediately says she is the guilty one. No one believes her, as there is no proof. “Chosen”, the suspect, has another name but it takes a while to find out who she really is. A Doctor is also questioned. Then the twist and turns happen. It is a very interesting book. The ending leaves you wanting to find out more.
