Magic in the Kingdom of Rennedawn is still on the fritz. The Villain’s magic is playing up and Kingsley is acting strangely. To top it off, enemies are somehow getting into Massacre Manor, who could possibly be the mole?
Building on the plot of the previous books in the series, Assistant and Apprentice to The Villain we see the cast of intrepid characters continue their search for the requirements of a prophecy to save the kingdom … for evil purposes, I’m sure. We get more time in the heads of our favourite side characters and get a front row seat as their own romances start to form and flourish. A good thing too because I think the truly villainous part of this story is the tortuous slow burn between our cheery Wicked Woman, Evie and The Villain who wants to keep his distance to protect her. Their chemistry works the same as the other books, teasing you with progress before they both pull back again.
The pace of Accomplice to The Villain is perhaps a little bit steadier than its predecessor, which I raced through. However, there’s more than enough to keep fans of the series entertained and a final series of revelations that will have readers eagerly awaiting the final instalment.
